The ruling Left Democratic Front has unveiled its manifesto for the upcoming Kerala Assembly elections, outlining a comprehensive plan focused on welfare measures, employment generation, and economic development. The manifesto highlights the government’s intention to strengthen social security while also promoting long-term growth in the state.

One of the key promises in the manifesto is the increase in welfare pensions to Rs 3000 per month. This move is aimed at supporting vulnerable sections of society, including senior citizens, widows, and differently abled individuals. The LDF has also pledged to eliminate absolute poverty, positioning it as a major priority in its governance agenda.

In addition to welfare measures, the manifesto places strong emphasis on employment generation, particularly for the youth. The LDF has proposed expanding campus placement opportunities in colleges and universities to ensure that students can secure jobs soon after completing their education. Skill development programs are also expected to be strengthened to improve employability and align the workforce with industry requirements.

The manifesto also sets a target to increase women’s participation in the workforce to 50 percent. This reflects a broader focus on gender inclusion and economic empowerment. By encouraging more women to join the workforce, the LDF aims to boost household incomes and contribute to overall economic growth.

On the development front, the LDF has announced plans to attract investments worth Rs 2 lakh crore. This is expected to be achieved through policy support, infrastructure development, and investor-friendly initiatives. The manifesto also includes proposals for creating new industrial corridors, which would help in expanding manufacturing and service sectors while generating employment opportunities.

The focus on industrial growth is complemented by plans to strengthen existing sectors and promote innovation. By improving infrastructure and creating a conducive business environment, the LDF aims to position Kerala as a competitive destination for investment.

Political observers note that the manifesto reflects a balanced approach, combining welfare initiatives with development-oriented strategies. Such a mix is often crucial in addressing both immediate needs and long-term economic challenges.

Overall, the LDF’s manifesto presents a roadmap aimed at improving living standards, reducing poverty, and creating sustainable economic opportunities. As the election campaign progresses, these promises are expected to play a significant role in shaping voter preferences and political discussions across the state.
