He pointed out that the National Conference has always been committed to social justice and inclusive growth and that the party had worked extensively to ensure fair representation for all communities.

In a recent statement, National Conference (NC) MLA Salman Sagar claimed that Ruhullah Mehdi, a former NC leader, had been exploited by political enemies of the party. Speaking to the media, Sagar stated that Mehdi, who had been vocal in his criticism of the party leadership, had fallen prey to a political conspiracy, which was orchestrated by rival factions to weaken the National Conference.

Sagar went on to address the ongoing reservation protests, calling them premature and ill-timed. He argued that the protests, which have gathered significant momentum in recent weeks, were not based on a comprehensive understanding of the issue. The MLA stressed that while the concerns of the protesters are legitimate, the way the movement has been organized has undermined its potential to bring about meaningful change.

According to Sagar, the reservation issue in Jammu and Kashmir, though important, should have been addressed through more structured and calm discussions rather than through protests that have led to disruptions. He pointed out that the National Conference has always been committed to social justice and inclusive growth and that the party had worked extensively to ensure fair representation for all communities.

Sagar also questioned the motivations behind the protests, implying that they were politically charged, orchestrated by opposition parties to destabilize the state’s current political climate. He called on the people to differentiate between genuine grievances and those exploited for political gains.

Regarding Ruhullah Mehdi, Sagar emphasized that Mehdi’s departure from the NC was part of a larger plan by those seeking to diminish the influence of the National Conference in Jammu and Kashmir. He said that Mehdi's actions and statements had been guided by those who do not have the best interests of the region or its people in mind.

Sagar concluded by urging the protesters to engage in peaceful dialogues with the government and to allow the National Conference to continue its work toward securing social justice and equitable opportunities for all sections of society.
