Patna, Bihar: The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) has officially finalised seat-sharing for the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections, party sources confirmed.

Patna, Bihar:

The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) has officially finalised seat-sharing for the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections, party sources confirmed. The distribution of constituencies among alliance partners has been decided after detailed consultations between leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Lok Janshakti Party (LJP), Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM), and Rashtriya Lok Samata Party (RLSP).

According to the seat-sharing arrangement, LJP president Chirag Paswan will contest 26 seats, HAM chief Jitan Ram Manjhi 8 seats, and RLSP leader Upendra Kushwaha 7 seats. The Bharatiya Janata Party, as the major NDA constituent, will field candidates in the remaining constituencies. The seat allocation aims to balance regional influence, party strength, and past electoral performance to maximise the alliance’s chances of securing a majority in the 243-member Bihar Assembly.

Political analysts note that Bihar’s political landscape is highly competitive, with the Mahagathbandhan and other regional players presenting strong challenges. The NDA’s seat-sharing arrangement is designed to maintain alliance unity while strategically placing candidates in constituencies with high winning potential. By finalising seat-sharing ahead of time, the alliance can now focus on campaign planning, voter mobilisation, and ground-level coordination.

Chirag Paswan’s LJP, which has a strong base in certain regions of Bihar, will contest 26 seats to consolidate support among its voter base. Jitan Ram Manjhi’s HAM, with influence in specific districts, has been allocated 8 constituencies, while Upendra Kushwaha’s RLSP will contest 7 seats, reflecting its limited but significant regional presence. Analysts say these allocations are intended to ensure that NDA partners complement each other rather than compete internally, helping to optimise the alliance’s overall electoral performance.

NDA leaders have emphasised that the seat-sharing agreement reflects careful negotiation and consensus among alliance partners. Party officials indicated that the agreement allows sufficient time for candidate selection, campaign preparation, and outreach to voters across rural and urban constituencies.

The arrangement also takes into account demographic considerations, caste composition, and historical voting patterns in key constituencies. The NDA hopes that early clarity on seat-sharing will help prevent last-minute conflicts and enable a coordinated campaign strategy.

Political observers believe that this seat-sharing deal will play a significant role in shaping the dynamics of the Bihar Assembly elections. Coordination among NDA partners is expected to enhance voter outreach, strengthen party organisation at the district and block levels, and present a united front against opposition alliances.

The finalisation of seats comes amid preparations for rallies, public engagements, and media campaigns. NDA leaders have reiterated their commitment to a disciplined campaign, ensuring that alliance partners work together to secure a majority and form the next government in Bihar.

The seat allocation aims to balance regional influence, party strength, and past electoral performance to maximise the alliance’s chances of securing a majority in the 243-member Bihar Assembly.
