Pakistan's Defence Minister recently stirred controversy by stating that Pakistan and the National Conference-Congress (NC-Congress) alliance share similar views on the Jammu & Kashmir issue. The remark has sparked a political storm in India, with BJP leaders strongly reacting to the statement.
The Defence Minister's comment suggested that Pakistan is on the same page as the NC-Congress alliance when it comes to the political scenario in Jammu & Kashmir. This assertion has fueled speculation and raised concerns about the opposition's stance on national security and territorial integrity.
Reacting swiftly, BJP leaders condemned the statement, accusing the Congress and NC of aligning with Pakistan's narrative on Kashmir. BJP spokespersons criticized the opposition for undermining India's sovereignty, with many accusing them of prioritizing political gains over national interests.
The NC and Congress, however, dismissed the Defence Minister's claim as baseless and politically motivated. They reiterated their commitment to resolving the Jammu & Kashmir issue within the framework of the Indian Constitution, asserting that Pakistan’s statements hold no relevance to their domestic political agenda.
As the BJP continues to target the opposition over the issue, this development is likely to further intensify the political rhetoric surrounding Jammu & Kashmir, especially ahead of the upcoming elections. The claim and the subsequent reactions have added a new dimension to the ongoing political discourse on national security and regional stability.
