AIADMK General Secretary and former Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami has strongly criticized Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin and Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin regarding the NEET issue. Addressing the media, Palaniswami accused the ruling DMK government of deceiving the people by failing to keep its electoral promise of abolishing the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) for medical admissions.
He alleged that despite making several assurances during election campaigns, the DMK government has not taken effective steps to fulfill its commitment. Palaniswami demanded that Stalin and Udhayanidhi disclose the actual status of their efforts in scrapping NEET and inform the public about any discussions held with the central government on the matter.
Highlighting the concerns of students and parents, the AIADMK leader stated that the uncertainty surrounding NEET has caused immense stress among medical aspirants. He urged the Tamil Nadu government to provide a clear stance on the issue instead of misleading people with political rhetoric.
The NEET debate has been a longstanding political issue in Tamil Nadu, with opposition parties questioning the DMK’s ability to secure an exemption for the state. Palaniswami’s remarks have intensified the political discourse, putting pressure on the ruling government to respond.
