The third day of the ongoing Parliament winter session witnessed further disruptions as both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha were adjourned amid heated exchanges over the Adani Group's alleged financial misconduct. Opposition parties raised strong objections over the Adani issue, calling for a thorough investigation and debate in Parliament regarding the alleged indictment of the group in connection with stock market irregularities.
The opposition's demand for a discussion on the matter led to a standoff with the government, which resisted the calls for immediate scrutiny, arguing that the issue was not relevant to the current session’s agenda. As a result, the Lok Sabha was adjourned for the day, followed by the Rajya Sabha, as both Houses of Parliament failed to proceed due to the ongoing uproar.
The opposition's insistence on addressing the Adani issue has become a key point of contention, with parties like the Congress and TMC accusing the ruling government of shielding the corporate giant from scrutiny. The government, however, has dismissed the allegations as politically motivated, maintaining that the matter does not warrant parliamentary intervention.
As the session continues, the stand-off over the Adani controversy is expected to remain a significant point of discussion, with both sides preparing for further confrontations in the coming days.
