In a significant move to enhance the infrastructure ahead of the 2025 Maha Kumbh, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated development projects worth Rs 5,500 crore in Prayagraj. The projects, which cover various sectors, aim to improve the city’s amenities and facilities, ensuring a smooth and comfortable experience for the millions of devotees expected to gather for the religious event.
The Prime Minister's initiatives are expected to boost the city’s infrastructure, with key projects focusing on better road connectivity, transportation, sanitation, and water supply systems. The government also plans to upgrade the existing facilities at major Kumbh Mela sites to accommodate a larger number of pilgrims.
In his address, PM Modi emphasized the importance of the Maha Kumbh, describing it as a symbol of India’s spiritual and cultural heritage. He assured that these projects would not only benefit devotees during the Kumbh but also leave a lasting legacy that would improve the quality of life for Prayagraj residents.
The development works, which are part of the government’s broader vision to upgrade infrastructure for religious tourism, are expected to transform Prayagraj into a model city for both spiritual and tourism-related activities. This comes as part of the government’s continued efforts to promote religious tourism and strengthen India’s cultural identity on the global stage.
These transformative projects are expected to be completed in time for the 2025 Maha Kumbh, which is expected to see record participation from devotees and tourists alike.
