New Delhi:

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reiterated the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government’s strong focus on the welfare of the economically weaker sections of society and its broader mission of building a self-reliant India. Speaking at a public gathering, the Prime Minister outlined key achievements of his administration and called for collective participation in transforming India into a nation that stands independently across sectors.

PM Modi emphasized that the central government has consistently prioritized schemes aimed at improving the lives of the poor and marginalized. From affordable housing and rural electrification to healthcare and financial inclusion, he stated that these efforts are designed to ensure that the benefits of development reach every section of society.

“Welfare of the poor is not just a policy, but a guiding principle of our governance model. Whether it is providing clean drinking water, improving sanitation, or creating employment opportunities, our focus remains on inclusive development,” said the Prime Minister.

He mentioned that the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Ayushman Bharat, Ujjwala Yojana, and PM-KISAN schemes are examples of how the NDA government is delivering on its promise of empowering the poor. He also noted that access to banking and digital services in rural areas has improved significantly, helping bridge the urban-rural divide.

The Prime Minister also stressed the importance of building a self-reliant India (Atmanirbhar Bharat), a campaign launched to strengthen domestic capabilities and reduce dependence on foreign goods and services. He said this vision is not just about economic independence but also about ensuring that India emerges stronger in the global landscape by investing in innovation, infrastructure, and human resources.

“Our aim is to create a nation that is self-sufficient in its needs and confident in its future. We are supporting local industries, encouraging start-ups, and creating a robust ecosystem for manufacturing and technology,” PM Modi explained.

He further added that India’s response to recent global challenges, including the COVID-19 pandemic, has shown the country’s resilience. He pointed to the rapid development and distribution of vaccines, the scaling up of health infrastructure, and the support extended to the poor during lockdowns as examples of the government’s proactive approach.

The Prime Minister concluded his address by urging citizens to actively participate in nation-building and support government initiatives aimed at creating an equitable and prosperous society. He emphasized that the journey toward self-reliance and poverty alleviation requires unity, determination, and sustained public involvement.

Political analysts say the Prime Minister’s remarks reflect the government's ongoing efforts to showcase its performance in welfare and development ahead of the upcoming electoral cycles. They note that the twin focus on poverty reduction and self-reliance continues to be a central theme in the NDA’s governance narrative.

Whether it is providing clean drinking water, improving sanitation, or creating employment opportunities, our focus remains on inclusive development,” said the Prime Minister.
