In a significant move to bolster the agricultural community, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will release the 19th installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme on February 24, 2025, during a function in Bhagalpur, Bihar. The event is expected to witness the participation of around 5 lakh farmers, with Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar accompanying the Prime Minister.
The PM-KISAN scheme, launched in 2019, aims to provide financial assistance to small and marginal farmers across India. Under this initiative, eligible farmers receive an annual benefit of ₹6,000, disbursed in three equal installments of ₹2,000 each. These funds are directly credited to the beneficiaries' bank accounts to ensure transparency and efficiency. Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan highlighted the government's dedication to the farming community, stating that the upcoming disbursement would transfer approximately ₹22,000 crore to 9.8 crore farmers nationwide. This substantial financial support underscores the government's ongoing efforts to enhance farmers' income and promote sustainable agricultural practices.
Farmers eagerly anticipating the 19th installment are advised to ensure their eligibility by completing the necessary e-KYC (Know Your Customer) procedures and verifying thr Aadhaar-linked bank accounts. Timely completion of these requirements is crucial for the seamless transfer of funds.
The PM-KISAN scheme has been instrumental in providing financial stability to the agrarian sector, especially during challenging times. By facilitating direct income support, the initiative aims to empower farmers, reduce their dependence on loans, and contribute to the overall growth of the agricultural economy.
As the government continues to prioritize farmers' welfare, the disbursement of the 19th installment reaffirms its commitment to uplifting the agricultural community and ensuring their prosperity.
