External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, speaking at the 18th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas, lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s transformative leadership in changing India's approach to governance and global engagement. Jaishankar highlighted how PM Modi’s leadership has steered India away from the passive, complacent mindset of 'Chalta Hai' (It’s okay) to a more proactive, determined mindset of 'Hoga Kaise Nahi' (How can it not happen?).
The statement underscores the shift in India’s attitude towards development and challenges under PM Modi’s guidance. According to Jaishankar, the country has moved from merely accepting situations as they are to taking bold steps to address issues and achieve national goals. This transformation has not only reshaped India’s domestic policy but has also elevated its stature on the global stage.
Jaishankar further emphasized that PM Modi’s vision has led to India becoming more confident, assertive, and ambitious in its foreign relations and domestic growth. Under Modi, the country has undertaken ambitious projects, enhanced its diplomatic relations, and asserted itself as a key player in global affairs.
The remarks were made during the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas, an event celebrating the contributions of the Indian diaspora. Jaishankar also acknowledged the vital role of the overseas Indian community in India’s rise on the global platform, crediting them for their invaluable support and engagement with the nation’s progress.
As India continues to assert itself in the international arena, Jaishankar’s comments reflect the evolving national mindset and PM Modi's pivotal role in shaping it, moving away from complacency to a culture of achievement and determination.
