Guwahati: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Assam on March 13 and 14 to inaugurate major development projects and launch an important land rights initiative for the tea garden community. The information was shared by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, who said the visit will include projects valued at around 10000 crore rupees.

According to the Chief Minister, the Prime Minister will inaugurate several infrastructure and development initiatives aimed at boosting economic growth and improving public services in the state. The projects are part of the government’s broader effort to strengthen connectivity, create employment opportunities, and support regional development across Assam.

One of the major highlights of the visit will be the distribution of land ownership certificates to members of the tea garden community. The program aims to provide legal land rights to thousands of families who have been living and working in tea estates for generations but have not previously had formal ownership of the land they occupy.

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said the initiative is an important step toward improving the social and economic conditions of tea garden workers. The tea industry has played a significant role in Assam’s economy for many decades, and the welfare of workers in this sector remains a key priority for the state government.

The distribution of land rights is expected to provide greater security and stability to tea garden families. With official land ownership, beneficiaries may gain better access to housing benefits, financial assistance, and various welfare schemes offered by the government.

During the visit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is also expected to address public gatherings and interact with beneficiaries of various development programs. Officials believe that the projects being inaugurated will contribute significantly to infrastructure improvement and regional growth.

The Assam government has been working on multiple initiatives to support tea garden workers in recent years. These measures include improved housing schemes, access to healthcare services, educational support, and financial welfare programs aimed at improving living conditions in tea garden areas.

Political observers note that the Prime Minister’s visit highlights the importance of Assam in national development initiatives. Large scale infrastructure projects and welfare schemes are expected to strengthen economic growth and bring long term benefits to the people of the state.

The tea garden community represents a significant section of Assam’s population. Providing land rights to these families has been a long standing demand and the new initiative is expected to address one of the key issues faced by the community.

State officials are making preparations for the Prime Minister’s visit, with events planned across different locations in Assam. The government expects large participation from the public and beneficiaries during the programs scheduled for March 13 and 14.

The inauguration of development projects and the launch of the land rights distribution drive are expected to play a significant role in improving livelihoods and strengthening infrastructure in Assam.
