Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has announced that the entire Rangla Punjab fund will be dedicated to supporting people affected by the recent floods in the state. Addressing reporters, Mann stressed the government’s commitment to providing both immediate relief and long-term rehabilitation for flood-hit communities, ensuring that resources are efficiently used to restore lives and livelihoods.
The CM highlighted that the government has already initiated several measures to assist residents in affected areas. Emergency relief camps have been set up to provide temporary shelter, food, and medical assistance to families displaced by rising water levels. Teams of officials and volunteers are actively working to assess damage, distribute aid, and support vulnerable populations, including women, children, and the elderly.
Mann also elaborated on financial assistance measures, stating that affected families will receive direct monetary support to rebuild homes and replace essential belongings lost in the floods. The Rangla Punjab fund, originally allocated for development projects, will now be fully utilized for disaster relief, reflecting the state’s prioritization of citizen welfare over other expenditures.
In addition to immediate aid, the government is focused on restoring critical infrastructure. Efforts are underway to repair roads, bridges, and drainage systems damaged during the floods, ensuring that communities can resume daily activities and access essential services without prolonged disruption. Agriculture, being a key sector in Punjab, is also receiving special attention, with initiatives planned to help farmers recover from crop losses and rehabilitate farmlands affected by waterlogging.
Mann emphasized transparency and accountability in the disbursal of funds, assuring the public that every contribution from the Rangla Punjab fund will be closely monitored to reach those in genuine need. The CM called upon local authorities and community leaders to collaborate in relief and rehabilitation efforts, ensuring that assistance is distributed equitably across all affected areas.
The government’s approach combines immediate relief measures with long-term planning to mitigate the impact of future floods. Mann highlighted the importance of strengthening flood management systems, enhancing drainage infrastructure, and implementing early warning mechanisms to reduce vulnerabilities in the state.
Local residents have welcomed the announcement, expressing relief that the government is actively using resources to support flood-hit communities. Many emphasized the importance of both financial assistance and infrastructure restoration in enabling them to resume normal life after the disaster.
By dedicating the Rangla Punjab fund entirely to flood relief, CM Mann’s government aims to demonstrate strong governance and citizen-centric policies. The initiative not only provides tangible support to those affected but also signals the administration’s commitment to disaster preparedness, transparency, and long-term rehabilitation. The state government continues to coordinate closely with district officials, relief teams, and volunteers to ensure that every affected family receives the assistance required to recover and rebuild their lives.
