Speaking about the upcoming exercise, the CEO said that the Election Commission aims to strengthen the quality of electoral rolls by identifying and correcting errors, removing ineligible entries and ensuring the inclusion of all eligible voters.

The Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls in Telangana is likely to be announced during April or May, according to Chief Electoral Officer C Sudharsan Reddy. Preparatory work for the revision process has already begun, with a focus on ensuring accuracy, transparency and effective coordination at the booth level across the state.

Speaking about the upcoming exercise, the CEO said that the Election Commission aims to strengthen the quality of electoral rolls by identifying and correcting errors, removing ineligible entries and ensuring the inclusion of all eligible voters. The Special Intensive Revision is a key process conducted periodically to maintain updated and reliable voter lists.

As part of the preparations, Booth Level Agents will be appointed for every polling station in Telangana. These agents will play a crucial role in assisting electoral officials during the revision process by verifying voter details, supporting field-level checks and coordinating with electors. Officials believe that strong booth-level coordination is essential for the successful completion of the exercise.

The CEO clarified that voters will continue to have the opportunity to submit applications for inclusion, correction or deletion of names during the revision period. Electors will be able to furnish required details and documents as per guidelines issued by the Election Commission. Special camps and outreach programmes are also expected to be organised to ensure maximum participation.

Election officials emphasised that transparency will remain a priority throughout the process. Measures will be put in place to ensure that all revisions are carried out strictly in accordance with established rules and procedures. Political parties will also be involved in the process through their Booth Level Agents to ensure fairness and accountability.

The Special Intensive Revision is particularly important ahead of future elections, as it helps prevent issues such as duplicate entries, incorrect addresses and the inclusion of ineligible voters. Officials noted that maintaining accurate electoral rolls strengthens public trust in the democratic process and ensures that elections are conducted smoothly.

In recent years, the Election Commission has increasingly relied on technology to improve efficiency in voter registration and verification. Digital tools, online applications and data verification systems are expected to support the upcoming revision exercise in Telangana as well.

The CEO urged citizens to actively participate in the revision process and verify their voter details once the schedule is officially announced. He also advised political parties and civil society groups to cooperate with election officials to ensure that the process is completed within the stipulated timeline.

Further details regarding dates, procedures and guidelines for the Special Intensive Revision will be announced once the Election Commission issues a formal notification. Until then, preparatory arrangements will continue at both the state and district levels.

Officials noted that maintaining accurate electoral rolls strengthens public trust in the democratic process and ensures that elections are conducted smoothly.
