He said, “India must leverage technology not just for economic growth, but also to ensure health and dignity for every citizen.” With continued focus on innovation, investment, and inclusive development, the Prime Minister’s remarks underline a clear path forward where technology and healthcare go hand in hand to build a stronger, healthier India.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has underlined the critical role of technology in revolutionizing healthcare in India. Speaking at a national health and innovation forum, he stated that technology serves as an important catalyst for improving health outcomes, especially in a country with a vast and diverse population.

In his address, PM Modi explained that advancements in digital tools, artificial intelligence, and telemedicine are significantly transforming how healthcare is delivered in both urban and rural areas. He pointed out that these innovations are not just improving accessibility but also enhancing the quality and affordability of medical services.

“The healthcare sector in India is undergoing a historic transformation. Technology has made it possible to deliver timely care to remote and underserved regions, which was once a major challenge,” Modi said. He added that platforms such as Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission, eSanjeevani, and CoWIN are prime examples of how digital solutions can bridge healthcare gaps and empower citizens.

Modi emphasized that a strong digital health ecosystem is essential for a healthier and more equitable India. He noted that teleconsultation platforms have enabled millions to receive medical advice from specialists without the need to travel long distances. AI-based diagnostic tools are now supporting early disease detection, improving patient outcomes, and reducing the burden on hospitals.

Highlighting the success of India’s COVID-19 vaccination drive, he said that technology played a vital role in its planning and execution. The CoWIN platform, developed to manage the vaccine rollout, became a model for the world, helping administer over two billion vaccine doses efficiently and transparently.

The Prime Minister also stressed the importance of data and digital records in healthcare. He said that the creation of individual health IDs under the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission will ensure seamless access to medical history, reduce duplication of tests, and enable better continuity of care.

In addition to public sector efforts, PM Modi called upon private players, startups, and innovators to collaborate in building robust tech-enabled health infrastructure. He encouraged young entrepreneurs to invest in med-tech, wearable health devices, AI diagnostics, and mobile health applications.

The event saw participation from senior government officials, healthcare professionals, researchers, and industry leaders. Several case studies were presented, showing how state governments and healthcare startups are successfully using technology to serve communities in need.

Modi concluded his address by reiterating the government’s vision of “One Nation, One Health” and stressed that technology will continue to be central to achieving this goal. He said, “India must leverage technology not just for economic growth, but also to ensure health and dignity for every citizen.”
