Tamil Nadu Minister and DMK leader Udhayanidhi Stalin has raised serious allegations against the BJP and AIADMK, accusing them of protecting individuals involved in vote manipulation during recent elections in the state.

Tamil Nadu Minister and DMK leader Udhayanidhi Stalin has raised serious allegations against the BJP and AIADMK, accusing them of protecting individuals involved in vote manipulation during recent elections in the state. Addressing a public gathering, he claimed that these political parties provided shelter to those attempting to interfere with the democratic process, thereby compromising the integrity of the electoral system.

Udhayanidhi Stalin emphasized that free and fair elections are the cornerstone of democracy and any attempt to manipulate votes undermines public trust in governance. “Attempts to disrupt the voting process not only affect the outcome but also erode the faith of citizens in democratic institutions,” he said. According to him, the DMK-led state government has been compelled to take necessary action against such practices to protect the rights of voters and ensure transparency in the electoral process.

The minister alleged that in several constituencies, local party-backed elements collaborated to influence polling, including coercing voters, tampering with ballot management, and other unfair practices. He further stated that these activities were allegedly supported or overlooked by leaders of opposition parties, including the BJP and AIADMK, which, he claimed, contributed to an uneven playing field during elections.

Udhayanidhi Stalin stressed the need for stringent enforcement of electoral laws and accountability for those found guilty of malpractice. He called upon the Election Commission to closely monitor electoral conduct and take strict action against individuals or groups attempting to manipulate outcomes. According to him, safeguarding voter rights and ensuring a transparent process are paramount to maintaining the credibility of democratic elections.

Highlighting the broader implications, the minister warned that unchecked electoral interference could lead to long-term damage to the democratic fabric of the state. He urged citizens to stay vigilant, report irregularities, and participate actively in the electoral process. “It is the responsibility of every voter to uphold the sanctity of the ballot,” Udhayanidhi said, emphasizing the role of civic awareness in protecting democratic values.

Additionally, the DMK leader asserted that the government is committed to improving election monitoring mechanisms, including the use of technology and deployment of security personnel, to prevent any repeat of alleged malpractice. He noted that proactive measures are essential to ensure that elections reflect the genuine will of the people.

In conclusion, Udhayanidhi Stalin reiterated that political parties attempting to shield individuals involved in vote manipulation are acting against the principles of democracy. He stressed that both the government and citizens have a collective duty to safeguard electoral integrity, promote transparency, and ensure that future elections in Tamil Nadu are conducted fairly, free from coercion or manipulation.

He further stated that these activities were allegedly supported or overlooked by leaders of opposition parties, including the BJP and AIADMK, which, he claimed, contributed to an uneven playing field during elections.
