Their input will be critical if the BJP wants to fine-tune its approach before the next big electoral challenge,” said Delhi-based analyst Sudha Pai.

As political corridors buzz with talk of a potential reshuffle within the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), top functionaries of its ideological parent, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), are scheduled to be in Delhi this week. The timing of their visit has intensified speculation about impending organizational changes within the BJP, especially with the 2024 general elections behind and several state elections ahead.

Sources close to the matter indicate that senior RSS leaders including Sarkaryavah (General Secretary) Dattatreya Hosabale and others are likely to hold meetings with key BJP figures, including Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP President J.P. Nadda. The meetings are expected to focus on the party’s post-election strategy, leadership adjustments, and the roadmap for upcoming state polls.

Though neither the RSS nor the BJP has made any official announcement, insiders suggest the discussions could include evaluating the performance of party functionaries, restructuring roles at both national and state levels, and strategizing outreach initiatives to bolster grassroots connections. With a few high-profile retirements expected and shifting regional dynamics, leadership recalibrations are considered imminent.

An RSS insider, speaking on condition of anonymity, noted that "such meetings are routine and part of the larger consultative process between the Sangh and the BJP. But this time, the timing is crucial, especially considering the mixed results the BJP received in some recent elections."

In the BJP camp, there is growing anticipation that new faces may be introduced into key decision-making roles, particularly from states where the party underperformed or where leadership fatigue has set in. The RSS has traditionally played a back-channel advisory role in such reshuffles, ensuring alignment with the broader ideological mission.

Political analysts believe this RSS visit signals more than just internal housekeeping. “The RSS keeps a close eye on national mood, regional sentiments, and ideological positioning. Their input will be critical if the BJP wants to fine-tune its approach before the next big electoral challenge,” said Delhi-based analyst Sudha Pai.

Meanwhile, the Opposition has questioned the BJP’s dependence on the RSS, calling it “proof of the Sangh’s overreach into democratic institutions.” Congress spokesperson Supriya Shrinate said, “This only confirms what we’ve always said — that BJP functions not as an independent political party, but as a branch of the RSS.”

As the week unfolds, all eyes will be on Delhi, where the political temperature is set to rise, with meetings behind closed doors possibly shaping the next phase of BJP’s political journey.
