Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami conducted a comprehensive review meeting on Wednesday to assess the preparedness for the ‘Jan Jan Ki Sarkar, Jan Jan Ke Dwar’ programme. The review was held at the Chief Minister’s residence and involved senior government officials responsible for implementing the initiative across the state.
The programme is a key component of the state government’s outreach strategy, aimed at ensuring that the benefits of various welfare schemes reach every eligible citizen. During the meeting, the Chief Minister highlighted the importance of proactive governance and directed officials to focus on last-mile delivery, particularly in remote and rural areas of Uttarakhand.
Dhami emphasized that the ‘Administration Towards the Village’ campaign should serve as the foundation of the programme. He instructed district administrations and departmental officials to conduct field visits, interact directly with citizens, and identify gaps in the implementation of welfare schemes. According to the Chief Minister, direct engagement with the public will help officials better understand local issues and provide timely solutions.
The Chief Minister also stressed the need for effective coordination among departments to ensure smooth execution of the programme. He called for the use of technology to monitor progress, track beneficiary coverage, and ensure transparency in service delivery. Officials were asked to maintain accurate records and submit regular reports to facilitate continuous evaluation.
Special attention was given to grievance redressal mechanisms during the review meeting. Dhami directed officials to ensure that complaints received from citizens are addressed promptly and that follow-up actions are clearly communicated. He noted that timely resolution of grievances is crucial to building public trust in governance.
The programme is expected to involve door-to-door outreach, awareness campaigns, and on-the-spot assistance for accessing government services. Welfare schemes related to health, education, social security, housing, and employment are among those to be covered under the initiative. The government aims to identify eligible beneficiaries who may have been left out and ensure their inclusion.
Senior officials briefed the Chief Minister on logistical arrangements, manpower deployment, and timelines for the programme’s rollout. They also outlined measures to ensure accountability at every level of implementation. Dhami reiterated that all officers must work with dedication and a sense of responsibility to achieve the programme’s objectives.
The ‘Jan Jan Ki Sarkar, Jan Jan Ke Dwar’ initiative reflects the Uttarakhand government’s focus on people-centric governance. By taking administration directly to citizens, the programme seeks to improve accessibility to government services and enhance the overall effectiveness of welfare delivery in the state.
