In the ongoing controversy surrounding the West Bengal School Service Commission (SSC) recruitment scam, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee stated that her government will respect and implement the verdict of the Supreme Court. Her comments came in the wake of the top court's decision to scrutinize alleged irregularities in recruitment for teaching and non-teaching posts in state-run schools.

The SSC scam, which has drawn national attention, involves accusations of unfair appointments, monetary exchanges, and the manipulation of merit lists in the recruitment process. Several officials and political figures are under investigation by central agencies, including the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

Speaking at a press briefing, Mamata Banerjee reaffirmed that her administration has nothing to hide and is prepared to cooperate fully with the legal process. "Whatever the Supreme Court decides, we will follow it without question," she said, emphasizing her government’s commitment to transparency and justice.

However, Banerjee also used the opportunity to criticize opposition parties, particularly the BJP and CPI(M), accusing them of politicizing the issue for electoral gains. "Those who have done nothing for the people are now pretending to be champions of justice. Their only goal is to malign the image of Bengal," she said.

The BJP, on the other hand, has demanded the resignation of top education officials and has called for a court-monitored investigation. CPI(M) leaders have accused the Trinamool Congress of institutionalizing corruption and manipulating government jobs for political loyalty.

The Supreme Court is expected to issue further directions in the case soon, and its final verdict will determine the legal consequences for those involved. Meanwhile, the case continues to generate political heat in West Bengal, with both ruling and opposition parties turning it into a major election issue.

As investigations progress, all eyes remain on how the verdict and its implementation will affect West Bengal’s education system and political landscape
