The Rajya Sabha was adjourned on Wednesday following a complete impasse triggered by the opposition’s no-confidence motion against Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, who also serves as the Speaker of the Rajya Sabha. The session was further marred by heated debates and disruptions over comments made regarding billionaire George Soros.

The opposition has been demanding the removal of Speaker Dhankhar, citing concerns over his impartiality during parliamentary proceedings. The no-confidence motion, however, failed to progress as both sides locked horns over procedural matters, with the opposition accusing the Speaker of bias and the ruling party defending his conduct.

Meanwhile, the issue surrounding Soros has added fuel to the fire. Comments made by members regarding the billionaire's alleged influence over political matters in India led to intense exchanges, with some accusing opposition leaders of pandering to external interests. The debate over Soros has intensified political divisions within the country.

Unable to resolve the deadlock, the Rajya Sabha was adjourned till the following day, leaving both the no-confidence motion and the Soros controversy unresolved. The adjournment marks yet another disruption in the current session, as both issues continue to dominate discussions in the upper house of Parliament.

The no-confidence motion, however, failed to progress as both sides locked horns over procedural matters, with the opposition accusing the Speaker of bias and the ruling party defending his conduct.
