The US Open 2026 men’s singles draw has set up a highly competitive tournament, with defending champion Carlos Alcaraz, 24-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic and top seed Alexander Zverev placed on challenging paths toward the title.
The main draw was released on August 27 ahead of the start of singles action. Alexander Zverev occupies the top position in the draw after world No. 1 Jannik Sinner withdrew from the tournament because of a right-knee injury. Zverev, who won the French Open earlier this year, will begin his US Open campaign against Lorenzo Sonego. The German is aiming to win his first US Open title after finishing runner-up at Flushing Meadows in 2020.
Defending champion Carlos Alcaraz is the No. 2 seed and has been placed in the bottom half of the draw. The Spaniard is returning to singles competition after a lengthy absence caused by a wrist injury. He will open his title defence against Roman Safiullin.
