The announcement was made by Google CEO Sundar Pichai through a post on X, where he revealed that students can now take full length SAT practice exams using the Gemini AI app without any payment.

Google has introduced a new free learning feature aimed at supporting students preparing for competitive exams, beginning with the SAT. The announcement was made by Google CEO Sundar Pichai through a post on X, where he revealed that students can now take full length SAT practice exams using the Gemini AI app without any payment.

According to Pichai, the initiative is designed to make high quality exam preparation accessible to a wider group of learners. The SAT practice tests available on Gemini are developed using vetted academic material from The Princeton Review, a globally recognised name in standardised test preparation. This collaboration ensures that the questions and exam structure closely match the actual SAT format.

The new feature allows students to start a practice exam by simply entering a prompt such as “I want to take a practice SAT test” within the Gemini app. Once initiated, Gemini generates a complete, timed SAT style examination on demand. After the test is completed, the AI instantly evaluates the responses and provides a detailed performance analysis.

One of the key highlights of the Gemini SAT feature is its in depth feedback system. Students receive a breakdown of their performance by subject and topic, helping them identify areas of strength as well as sections that require improvement. This allows learners to focus their preparation more efficiently, without needing separate coaching or paid mock tests.

Google has stated that this free SAT preparation option is just the beginning. While the current rollout focuses on the SAT, more standardised exams are expected to be added in the future. This move aligns with Google’s broader push to integrate artificial intelligence into education and skill development.

The announcement has been welcomed by students and educators, especially as SAT preparation can be expensive for many families. By offering free, high quality practice tests, Google aims to reduce financial barriers and expand access to learning tools powered by AI.

The Gemini app is available across multiple platforms, making it easier for students to practice anytime and anywhere. However, Google has not yet specified whether the feature will be region restricted or universally accessible, though early indications suggest it is open to students globally.

As artificial intelligence continues to play a growing role in education, initiatives like this highlight how technology can be used to personalise learning and support exam readiness. Students are advised to rely on official sources for updates on additional exams and features that may be added to the Gemini platform in the coming months.
