As international focus grows on strengthening peace and security, the Prime Minister’s remarks serve as a reminder that the fight against terrorism requires principled, sustained, and collective global action.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in a strong message at an international platform, asserted that the fight against terrorism requires a unified global stance and must not be guided by selective or politically motivated considerations. He said that the condemnation of terrorism should be a matter of principle and not influenced by diplomatic convenience.

Speaking at a multilateral summit attended by global leaders and policymakers, the Prime Minister addressed the growing challenges posed by terrorism and the need for nations to act with sincerity and consistency. He remarked that terrorism in any form or by any justification poses a serious threat to humanity and global peace, and must be dealt with firmly.

The Prime Minister pointed out that some countries differentiate between "good" and "bad" terrorism based on their geopolitical interests. He warned that such double standards weaken global efforts and encourage extremist elements. Modi called for a collective commitment to adopt a zero-tolerance policy towards terrorism and to strengthen international cooperation in intelligence-sharing, border control, and counter-terror financing.

India has long maintained its position on the importance of a coordinated global response to terrorism. The Prime Minister’s remarks reflect India’s ongoing efforts to bring international attention to the issue, especially amid evolving security threats and the rise of extremist ideologies in different parts of the world.

He also emphasized the importance of reforming global institutions to better address emerging security challenges. Modi reiterated that only through global solidarity and a shared sense of responsibility can the root causes of terrorism be addressed effectively. He further stressed that all nations must ensure that their territories are not used to shelter or support terror networks.

In recent years, India has actively pushed for stronger global frameworks to combat terrorism, including its advocacy for a Comprehensive Convention on International Terrorism at the United Nations. The country has also been vocal at platforms such as the G20, BRICS, and SCO about the need for unified action and cooperation in counter-terrorism measures.

The Prime Minister’s comments come at a time when the world is witnessing various forms of cross-border terrorism, cyber-enabled extremism, and radicalization. India has faced several instances of terror attacks and continues to urge the global community to recognize and address the sources of such violence.

His statement was supported by several countries that echoed the need for greater coordination and an uncompromising stance against terrorism. Security analysts observed that Modi’s speech reinforces India's leadership role in shaping the global counter-terrorism agenda.

The message also signals that India will continue to hold strong on its position and expectations from global partners when it comes to issues of terrorism, national security, and the international rule of law.
