Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta visited the ongoing ‘Ride Asia: EV Exhibition’ at Bharat Mandapam on Friday, reaffirming the city government’s dedication to promoting sustainable and environment-friendly transportation.

The exhibition, a premier platform for electric vehicle manufacturers and green technology innovators, featured a diverse range of two-wheelers, three-wheelers, electric cars, and advanced EV infrastructure solutions. The event attracted industry experts, government officials, and eco-conscious citizens eager to explore the latest in clean mobility.

During her visit, CM Rekha Gupta interacted with various stakeholders, including EV manufacturers, start-ups, and policy advocates. She expressed appreciation for the technological advancements displayed at the exhibition and reiterated the importance of transitioning to clean energy in the transport sector.

“This exhibition reflects the growing momentum in the EV sector and aligns with our government's commitment to building a cleaner, greener Delhi,” Gupta said. “We are expanding charging infrastructure, offering subsidies, and supporting start-ups to accelerate EV adoption in the capital.”

The Delhi government has been at the forefront of EV adoption in India, with policies that include incentives for EV buyers, road tax exemptions, and support for last-mile delivery operators to transition to electric vehicles. The Chief Minister noted that Delhi aims to become a model EV city by increasing the number of charging stations, encouraging public-private partnerships, and enhancing public transport with electric buses.

CM Gupta also highlighted the environmental benefits of EVs, noting that they play a crucial role in reducing vehicular pollution—a major contributor to Delhi’s air quality issues. She urged citizens and businesses to embrace electric mobility as a step toward a healthier future.

Several Indian and international companies participated in the Ride Asia expo, unveiling electric bikes, scooters, cars, and innovative charging solutions. Attendees were also able to test-drive some of the vehicles, giving them a first-hand experience of the EV revolution.
