The Indian Air Force’s Sarang helicopter display team is set to participate in the Singapore Airshow 2026, one of Asia’s most prominent aerospace and defence exhibitions. The event will take place from February 3 to February 9 at the Changi Exhibition Centre on Singapore’s East Coast and will bring together military and commercial aviation participants from across the globe.
The Sarang team, known for its precision flying and complex aerobatic manoeuvres, will represent India alongside several internationally recognised display teams. Among the participating military units is the Chinese People’s Liberation Army Air Force’s Bayi aerobatic team. The presence of multiple global air forces highlights the significance of the Singapore Airshow as a platform for aerial demonstrations and defence cooperation.
According to organisers, the 2026 edition of the airshow will feature a total of eight aerial displays. These will be presented by six air forces and two commercial aircraft manufacturers. The flying display programme has been curated to offer spectators a comprehensive view of modern aviation, combining military combat aircraft, helicopters, and advanced commercial platforms.
The Sarang helicopter display team operates the indigenously built Advanced Light Helicopter, showcasing its agility, reliability, and operational versatility. The team has performed at numerous international airshows in the past, earning recognition for its coordinated formations and intricate aerial routines. Their participation at Singapore Airshow 2026 is expected to further strengthen India’s presence in the global aviation and defence community.
The Singapore Airshow is considered a key event for showcasing aerospace technology, defence capabilities, and commercial aviation innovations. It serves as a major networking platform for air forces, defence manufacturers, policymakers, and industry leaders. Apart from flying displays, the event will also host static aircraft exhibitions, defence discussions, and industry presentations.
This year’s flying display line-up reflects a balanced mix of modern combat aircraft and next-generation commercial aviation platforms. Organisers have stated that the programme is designed to highlight advancements in aviation technology, operational capability, and safety standards. The inclusion of both military and civilian aircraft underscores the evolving nature of global aerospace development.
India’s participation through the Sarang team aligns with the Indian Air Force’s ongoing efforts to engage with international partners and showcase indigenous aviation capabilities. Defence experts note that such appearances contribute to greater visibility for Indian aerospace technology and enhance cooperation with friendly nations.
As anticipation builds for the Singapore Airshow 2026, aviation enthusiasts and industry observers are expected to closely follow the aerial displays. The participation of the Sarang helicopter display team is likely to be a key highlight, reflecting India’s growing role in the international aviation and defence landscape.
