The incident took place at approximately 8.51 am while the train was passing through the section. Officials confirmed that no injuries or casualties were reported.

According to railway sources, one air conditioned coach and two general coaches of the train jumped off the tracks. The derailment caused brief disruption to rail traffic in the area, prompting officials to divert or regulate trains passing through the affected route. Passengers onboard the derailed coaches were reported to be safe and were promptly assisted by railway staff.

Railway authorities stated that arrangements were made to accommodate passengers in nearby trains and stations. Food, water, and basic medical assistance were provided as a precautionary measure. Senior railway officials reached the site to oversee relief and restoration operations.

A rescue and technical team was dispatched from Bhadrak to the accident location soon after the incident was reported. Heavy machinery was deployed to re rail the affected coaches and restore normal train movement. Officials said that efforts were focused on clearing the tracks at the earliest to minimise inconvenience to passengers.

The East Coast Railway issued a statement confirming that an inquiry has been ordered to determine the cause of the derailment. Preliminary assessments are being conducted to examine track conditions, signalling systems, and rolling stock. Officials stated that a detailed investigation will identify whether technical failure, track issues, or external factors led to the incident.

Railway safety officials are also reviewing maintenance records of the track section where the derailment occurred. Such reviews are standard procedure following any accident to ensure accountability and prevent recurrence.

Local administration officials coordinated with railway authorities to manage crowd control and ensure smooth movement around the site. Police personnel were deployed to assist with safety and traffic arrangements near the railway station.

Train services on the affected route experienced temporary delays, but officials said alternative routes were arranged where possible. Passengers were advised to check updated train schedules before travel.
