Union Minister and BJP President JP Nadda chaired the 9th meeting of the Mission Steering Group (MSG) of the National Health Mission (NHM) at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. The high-level meeting brought together senior government officials, health experts, and policymakers to discuss strategies for enhancing India’s healthcare infrastructure and improving health outcomes.
The key focus areas of the meeting included strengthening primary healthcare services, improving maternal and child health, and advancing disease control initiatives. Discussions also covered funding allocations, policy reforms, and new initiatives to bridge gaps in healthcare accessibility, particularly in rural and underserved areas.
JP Nadda emphasized the government’s commitment to ensuring quality healthcare for all citizens. He highlighted the success of NHM initiatives in reducing infant and maternal mortality rates, expanding vaccination coverage, and strengthening healthcare delivery at the grassroots level. Officials also reviewed progress in implementing digital health programs and enhancing telemedicine services to reach remote regions.
The Mission Steering Group, the highest decision-making body under NHM, plays a crucial role in shaping policies and approving key projects aimed at improving public health. The government reiterated its focus on preventive healthcare, efficient resource allocation, and collaborative efforts to strengthen India’s healthcare system.
The meeting concluded with renewed commitments to accelerate NHM programs, expand healthcare accessibility, and adopt innovative strategies to tackle emerging health challenges in the country.
