Honda Cars India is set to introduce the facelifted version of the Elevate SUV in India on October 6, 2026. The updated model represents the first major refresh for the midsize SUV since its India debut in 2023. Honda has focused on giving the Elevate a refreshed exterior design, a more premium cabin and additional features while retaining the basic mechanical package.
India will be the first market globally to receive the updated Honda Elevate. The company opened pre bookings for the new model on October 1, with customers able to reserve the SUV through authorised Honda dealerships for a booking amount of Rs 21,000. Honda has positioned the facelift as a more feature rich and premium version of the existing SUV ahead of the festive season.
The most noticeable changes are expected at the front of the vehicle. Honda has redesigned the grille and introduced segmented LED daytime running lights integrated around the grille area. The Honda badge has also been moved from its earlier position to the bonnet, giving the SUV a different visual identity.
At the rear, the facelift receives connected LED tail lamps. These lighting changes give the updated Elevate a more contemporary appearance without significantly changing its overall SUV proportions. The facelift retains the familiar silhouette of the current model, making it recognisable as an Elevate while providing a refreshed appearance.
The exterior update is not limited to the lighting elements. The front bumper and grille have also been revised, while the facelift is expected to receive updated alloy wheel designs. The overall approach appears to be a mid cycle design refresh rather than a completely new generation model.
Honda has also worked on improving the interior experience. The cabin is expected to receive updated upholstery, trim finishes and additional soft touch materials. Ambient lighting and other premium touches are also expected to be part of the facelift package.
One of the important changes could be the addition of features that were previously available mainly through accessories. Honda has indicated that factory fitted ventilated front seats and a 360 degree camera are among the equipment upgrades being considered for the new Elevate. These features could improve convenience and parking assistance for buyers, particularly in higher variants.
A panoramic sunroof has also been reported as an expected feature for the facelift. Other expected additions include dual zone climate control, a powered driver's seat and rear sunblinds. However, the availability of these features can vary by variant, and buyers should check the official variant wise equipment list once Honda announces it.
The Elevate facelift is expected to retain its existing 1.5 litre naturally aspirated four cylinder petrol engine. The motor produces approximately 121 hp and 145 Nm of torque. It is expected to continue with a six speed manual gearbox and a CVT automatic transmission. The powertrain therefore remains largely unchanged as Honda concentrates on styling, equipment and comfort upgrades.
The current Elevate's official claimed fuel efficiency is 15.31 kmpl with the manual transmission and 16.92 kmpl with the CVT. Since the facelift is expected to retain the same engine and transmission options, mileage could remain close to these figures. However, the official fuel efficiency figures for the facelift should be considered once Honda publishes the final specifications.
A major point of interest for potential buyers is the possibility of a hybrid powertrain. Honda offers a strong hybrid system with the City in India, but the Elevate has not previously been available with the same setup. Current reports indicate that the facelift is unlikely to introduce the City's hybrid powertrain. This means the updated Elevate is expected to continue with its naturally aspirated petrol engine rather than adding a hybrid option.
The safety and driver assistance package is also expected to remain an important part of the Elevate. The existing SUV comes with Honda Sensing technology and a Level 2 ADAS package, including functions such as collision mitigation braking, adaptive cruise control and lane keeping assistance. A LaneWatch camera is also available. These technologies are expected to continue on the facelift, although the exact availability across variants will depend on Honda's final equipment list.
The facelift is expected to retain other convenience features such as wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless smartphone charging and an eight speaker audio system. The company is likely to use the facelift to address some of the equipment gaps that existed in the outgoing version.
Pricing will be one of the most important factors for the new Elevate. The outgoing model has been priced in the approximately Rs 12 lakh to Rs 17 lakh ex showroom range, depending on the variant and current pricing updates. With additional features and design changes, the facelift is expected to receive a price increase. However, the final variant wise prices need to be confirmed by Honda at the launch.
The new Elevate will continue to compete in one of India's most competitive midsize SUV segments. Its key rivals include the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Maruti Suzuki Victoris, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Skoda Kushaq and Volkswagen Taigun. The Tata Sierra and other newer SUVs also increase competition in the segment.
The pricing of the facelift will therefore play an important role in determining its competitiveness. Honda will need to balance the additional equipment with a price that remains attractive against rivals offering multiple engine, hybrid and technology options.
For existing Elevate buyers, the facelift could be particularly relevant because several of the expected additions address features that were previously unavailable from the factory. Ventilated seats, a 360 degree camera, improved cabin materials and additional comfort equipment could make the updated model more appealing.
At the same time, buyers considering the outgoing Elevate may find discounts and dealer offers on existing stock attractive. The decision between the old and new versions will depend on the final price difference and the equipment available in each variant.
The facelift also arrives at an important time for Honda Cars India. The Elevate is one of the company's key SUV models in the Indian market, and the updated version is intended to strengthen its position in the highly competitive midsize SUV segment.
Honda's decision to retain the existing petrol engine means the facelift is primarily an update to design, technology and equipment rather than a major mechanical transformation. Buyers looking for a hybrid SUV may therefore need to consider alternatives that already offer electrified powertrains.
With bookings already open for Rs 21,000, customers interested in the new Elevate can register their interest at authorised Honda dealerships. The complete price list, variant structure and feature distribution will be important for buyers before making a final purchase decision.
Overall, the 2026 Honda Elevate facelift brings a refreshed exterior, additional technology and comfort features while retaining the familiar petrol powertrain. The new segmented LED lighting, revised grille, relocated Honda badge and connected rear lighting give the SUV a more updated appearance.
The 1.5 litre petrol engine, six speed manual and CVT automatic options are expected to continue. Mileage should remain close to the existing model's claimed figures, although the official figures for the facelift will be more relevant once announced.
The final price and variant wise equipment list will ultimately determine how competitive the new Honda Elevate is against established rivals. For buyers, the most important factors to compare will be the final price, standard safety equipment, ADAS availability, 360 degree camera, comfort features, mileage and the absence of a hybrid option.
