Honda Cars India is preparing to launch the updated Elevate SUV in India on October 6, 2026. The facelift will bring styling changes and feature upgrades to the company's mid size SUV as Honda looks to strengthen its position in a highly competitive segment ahead of the festive season.
Honda has already opened pre launch bookings for the new Elevate across its authorised dealerships in India. Customers can reserve the upcoming SUV by paying a booking amount of Rs 21,000. India will be the first market globally to receive the updated Elevate.
The upcoming model represents the first major mid life update for the Elevate since the SUV was introduced in India in 2023. While Honda is expected to retain the basic proportions and platform of the current SUV, the facelift will introduce several visual changes to give the model a more modern appearance.
One of the biggest changes is expected at the front. Teaser images released by Honda indicate that the updated Elevate will feature connected LED daytime running lights. The front grille is also expected to receive a redesigned treatment, with a honeycomb pattern and a darker finish. The Honda badge has been repositioned on the bonnet, giving the SUV a different visual identity compared with the current model.
The front lighting arrangement is expected to be another important styling change. The updated design gives the Elevate a wider appearance and is intended to make the SUV look more distinctive on the road. The front bumper is also expected to receive design changes as part of the facelift.
At the rear, the updated Elevate is expected to feature connected LED tail lamps. The changes are expected to give the rear profile a more contemporary appearance without significantly altering the overall shape of the SUV. Revised exterior detailing and alloy wheel changes are also expected as part of the update.
The cabin is another area where Honda is expected to introduce several improvements. Teaser images suggest that the dashboard will receive updated materials and detailing. The facelift is also expected to offer new upholstery and trim options to create a more premium cabin environment.
Honda is expected to address some of the feature gaps of the existing Elevate with the facelift. Among the features that could be introduced are ventilated front seats, dual zone climate control and a factory fitted 360 degree camera. These features are increasingly becoming common in competing mid size SUVs and could improve the Elevate's equipment list.
An ambient lighting system is also expected to be available on the updated model. Other existing features, including wireless smartphone connectivity, wireless charging, lane watch camera technology and advanced driver assistance features, are expected to continue depending on the variant.
The infotainment system could also receive updated graphics and software improvements. Some reports indicate that Honda may offer a larger touchscreen as part of the facelift, although the complete equipment list and variant wise specifications will be confirmed at the official launch.
The powertrain is expected to remain largely unchanged. The current Honda Elevate is powered by a 1.5 litre naturally aspirated four cylinder petrol engine. The engine produces around 121 hp and 145 Nm of torque. It is currently offered with a six speed manual transmission and a seven step CVT automatic transmission.
There has been speculation about Honda introducing the strong hybrid powertrain used by the City. However, the hybrid powertrain has not been confirmed for the Elevate facelift. Current reports indicate that Honda is likely to continue with the existing petrol engine and transmission options.
The decision to retain the existing mechanical package could allow Honda to focus on improving the SUV's design, comfort and technology while keeping its established driving characteristics.
Pricing will be another important detail at the launch. The current Elevate is positioned in India's mid size SUV segment, where it competes with models such as the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Maruti Suzuki Victoris and Tata Sierra.
The facelift is expected to carry a slightly higher price than the outgoing model because of the additional equipment and styling updates. However, Honda has not yet announced the final variant wise pricing. The official prices are expected to be revealed on October 6.
The updated Elevate comes at an important time for Honda Cars India. The mid size SUV segment has become increasingly competitive, with manufacturers adding more technology, comfort features and powertrain choices to their products. Honda's facelift is therefore expected to focus on improving the value proposition of the Elevate while retaining its established strengths.
The five key areas to watch are the refreshed exterior design, upgraded interior, additional comfort and technology features, continuation of the existing petrol powertrain and the final pricing and variant structure.
Overall, the Honda Elevate facelift is expected to be an evolutionary update rather than a completely new generation model. The SUV will retain its familiar design proportions and petrol engine while receiving significant changes to its appearance and equipment list.
Honda is expected to reveal the complete specifications, variant details, features and prices when the updated Elevate officially launches in India on October 6, 2026. Until then, features that have not been officially confirmed should be treated as expectations based on teasers and reports.
