The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially released the UGC NET December 2024 application form, marking the beginning of the application process for aspiring candidates. The examination, which will take place from January 1 to January 19, 2025, will feature significant updates, including the introduction of a new subject, Ayurveda Biology.
Candidates wishing to apply for the positions of Assistant Professor or Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) in colleges and universities are required to submit their applications before the deadline of December 10, 2024. This year's exam will consist of two papers conducted online: Paper 1 will assess general teaching and research aptitude, while Paper 2 will focus on subject-specific knowledge, including the newly introduced Ayurveda Biology.
The exam follows a marking scheme where candidates will earn two marks for each correct answer, with no negative marking for incorrect responses. This makes the exam more accessible for candidates, as there is no penalty for guessing. Additionally, the UGC NET December 2024 session will be available in both English and Hindi to cater to a wider audience.
To qualify for the exam, applicants must possess a Master's degree in the relevant discipline. While there are no age restrictions for applicants applying for the position of Assistant Professor, candidates applying for JRF must be under 30 years of age.
For detailed information, including the syllabus for Ayurveda Biology and other specifics, candidates can visit the official UGC NET websites: ugcnet.nta.ac.in and ugcnetonline.in.
The application process is exclusively online and requires an active email address and mobile number for communications. The NTA has also announced a one-time correction window for applicants to rectify any mistakes in their application forms.
