Akshay Kumar, R Madhavan, and Ananya Panday are set to collaborate for the first time in an upcoming untitled film. The movie is based on a significant legal battle fought by barrister Chettur Sankaran Nair against the British government, a case that had major historical implications. Directed by Karan Singh Tyagi, the story is adapted from the book The Case That Shook the Empire by Raghu Palat and Pushpa Palat.

The book focuses on one of the longest trials in history, revolving around a defamation case filed by Sir Michael O’Dwyer, who played a pivotal role in the Jallianwala Bagh massacre, against C. Sankaran Nair. The defamation suit arose from a book authored by Nair, which exposed the atrocities committed by the British Raj in Punjab.

The film is produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions, Leo Media Collective, and Cape of Good Films, and is slated for release on March 14, 2025. The production team recently shared an announcement, describing the film as a powerful untold story about truth and justice.

Akshay Kumar was recently seen in a cameo appearance in Stree 2, while his next major role is in the action-packed Singham Again. R Madhavan, who last played the antagonist in Shaitaan, and Ananya Panday, who led the Netflix film CTRL, will also bring their talents to this legal drama.
