Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt will return as the goodwill ambassador for the All Living Things Environmental Film Festival (ALT EFF) for its 2024 edition. Expressing her excitement, Alia shared that her production company, Eternal Sunshine Productions, will be partnering with the festival. The 31-year-old actor praised the festival's mission to showcase films that celebrate nature’s resilience and highlight the importance of protecting the planet. She emphasized how ALT EFF uses storytelling to bring the real impact of environmental change to audiences.
Filmmaker Richie Mehta, known for directing Poacher—a series produced by Alia's company—will also join Alia in supporting the festival's mission.
The 2024 edition of ALT EFF promises to be a significant event with over 100 screenings planned across India. In addition to the film screenings, the festival will host workshops and panel discussions aimed at fostering a global dialogue on pressing environmental issues.
Festival Director Kunal Khanna praised Alia for her commitment to the environment, calling her a "remarkable artist" whose creative efforts through Eternal Sunshine Productions embody the transformative power of storytelling. Khanna also expressed confidence that with Alia and Richie Mehta as ambassadors, the festival would effectively amplify the voices of filmmakers who use cinema to inspire action on environmental challenges.
