Television actor Amar Upadhyay, best remembered for his role as Mihir Virani in the landmark Hindi serial Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, has finally spoken about the ongoing buzz regarding a potential third season of the show. The original daily soap, produced by Ekta Kapoor, became a household name in the early 2000s and was considered one of the most influential Indian television dramas of its time.
In an exclusive conversation, Amar Upadhyay addressed the fans' curiosity about whether Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 3 is in the pipeline. He stated that while there is ongoing interest and occasional internal discussions in the television industry about bringing the show back, nothing has been finalized yet. According to him, there is no official script or production plan currently in place.
He acknowledged that the show left a lasting impression on viewers and shaped Indian television storytelling. Bringing it back, therefore, would require a strong storyline and fresh perspective, while still staying true to the original characters and emotional connect that made the show a success. He emphasized that if a sequel were ever to happen, it would need to meet the high expectations set by the original series.
Amar Upadhyay also reflected on his own journey with the show, saying that the role of Mihir Virani changed his career forever. The character became iconic, and the emotional ups and downs portrayed in the series deeply resonated with viewers across generations. He expressed gratitude for the continued love and admiration he receives from audiences even years after the show ended.
The actor further added that television has changed significantly over the years. Audience tastes have evolved, and the format of storytelling is now faster and more diverse. Any revival of a classic show like Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi would need to adapt to these changes while retaining the core values that made it beloved in the first place.
While fans of the show may feel disappointed that there is no confirmation about a third season yet, Amar's comments offer a glimpse into the level of planning and thought that would go into such a decision. He assured that if a solid concept is developed and the original creators feel confident, the idea of a return is always open for consideration.
In conclusion, although Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 3 is not officially happening right now, the door is not entirely closed. Amar Upadhyay's thoughtful response highlights the care with which the show's legacy is being treated. Fans may have to wait a little longer to see whether Mihir Virani will once again return to their screens.
