The glamour and glitz of Cannes 2025 witnessed a heartwarming moment when actor Ishaan Khatter extended a thoughtful gesture toward his Homebound co-star and rumoured ex-girlfriend Janhvi Kapoor. The two were attending the prestigious film festival for the premiere of their upcoming international project, which has already begun generating buzz in global cinema circles.
As the actors exited a high-profile event at the French Riviera, paparazzi captured Ishaan Khatter guiding Janhvi Kapoor towards her car, ensuring her comfort amid the crowd and media frenzy. The subtle yet respectful gesture did not go unnoticed, earning praise from fans and media alike for its warmth and maturity.
Ishaan and Janhvi, who made their Bollywood debuts around the same time, have often been linked in the past due to their close off-screen camaraderie. Their on-screen chemistry in Dhadak (2018) sparked relationship rumours, though neither of them has publicly confirmed any romantic involvement. Over the years, both stars have maintained a cordial relationship, often supporting each other’s work in interviews and public appearances.
Their reunion at Cannes for Homebound has brought them back into the spotlight, but it was this off-screen moment that stood out. Netizens took to social media to appreciate the mutual respect and professionalism displayed by the duo, especially given their speculated history. Comments praising Ishaan for his respectful and gentlemanly conduct quickly went viral, with hashtags like #IshaanKhatter and #JanhviKapoor trending briefly after the event.
Homebound, directed by an acclaimed international filmmaker, is a psychological drama that marks a significant step for both actors on the global stage. Their appearance at Cannes was part of the film's official premiere, and both Ishaan and Janhvi have been receiving positive attention for their performances and fashion choices at the festival.
While the film itself is receiving early critical acclaim, the chemistry and maturity between the two lead actors have become a major talking point. Industry watchers noted that such dignified interactions help shift the conversation towards professionalism in Bollywood and highlight how former co-stars can share space amicably.
During a brief media interaction at the festival, both actors avoided personal questions but spoke enthusiastically about their experience working together again. Janhvi Kapoor said the project was “emotionally demanding but creatively fulfilling,” while Ishaan Khatter called it “one of the most challenging and enriching roles” of his career.
The moment between Ishaan and Janhvi at Cannes 2025 serves as a reminder of the value of mutual respect and grace in the public eye, especially in the world of entertainment where personal and professional lives often intertwine.
As Homebound prepares for its global release, the spotlight remains on the actors not just for their performances, but also for the dignified way they carry themselves, setting an example for rising stars in the industry.
