Chris Pratt, one of Hollywood’s most recognisable faces, has stunned fans with a completely different look in a recently released behind-the-scenes (BTS) video from the set of The Terminal List Season 2. The actor, who rose to fame for his roles in franchises like Jurassic World and Guardians of the Galaxy, appears nearly unrecognisable in his gritty and rugged avatar for the upcoming season of the Amazon Prime thriller series.
In the video clip circulating online, Pratt is seen in tactical gear with a heavily bearded face, a worn expression, and visibly rough features that hint at the emotional and physical toll his character has endured. The reaction from fans was immediate, with many commenting that the transformation is unlike anything they’ve seen from the actor before. Social media users noted that the actor looked far removed from his cheerful Star-Lord persona, with one fan commenting, “Looking rough, Star-Lord!”—a reference to his Marvel character.
The Terminal List series, based on the novel by Jack Carr, follows the story of James Reece, a Navy SEAL who uncovers a government conspiracy after his team is ambushed. The first season received a mixed critical response but was widely appreciated by fans for its intense storyline, solid performances, and dark undertones. Pratt’s portrayal of a man driven by vengeance and burdened by trauma was praised for showing a more serious and nuanced side of the actor.
Season 2 is expected to delve deeper into Reece’s journey, with higher stakes and more psychological tension. The behind-the-scenes visuals suggest a darker tone and increased physicality, hinting at intense action sequences and emotional challenges ahead for the character. Insiders from the production team have hinted that the second season will follow events from Carr’s sequel novel, True Believer, which involves global espionage and more complex character development.
In a recent interview, Chris Pratt said that stepping back into the shoes of James Reece is both physically and emotionally demanding. “This role pushes me out of my comfort zone. Reece is a man who has lost everything, and that pain stays with him. It’s raw, it’s real, and it’s what makes the story compelling,” he said.
The actor also praised the cast and crew for their commitment to authenticity, especially in portraying military operations with accuracy and respect. Several veterans and military consultants are part of the project, helping ground the narrative in reality.
With the anticipation building for Season 2, fans are eager to see how Chris Pratt’s character evolves and how the story unfolds. The series not only marks a shift in Pratt’s career toward more serious roles but also reinforces his ability to take on versatile performances that go beyond blockbuster humour and charm.
The Terminal List Season 2 is currently in production and is expected to premiere on Amazon Prime Video later this year.
