The Hindi spy action thriller Dhurandhar has officially concluded its theatrical run after more than 75 days in cinemas, marking a significant milestone at the box office. Headlined by Ranveer Singh and directed by Aditya Dhar, the film emerged as one of the biggest commercial successes in recent Hindi cinema.
Released exclusively in Hindi, Dhurandhar managed to attract audiences across metropolitan centres as well as smaller markets. Industry tracker Koimoi reported that the film collected approximately Rs 894.49 crore net in India by the end of its theatrical run. The film maintained consistent momentum over two months, supported by strong word of mouth and repeat viewership.
The ensemble cast included Akshaye Khanna, R. Madhavan, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal and Sara Arjun, whose performances contributed to the film’s wide appeal. The spy thriller genre, combined with large scale action sequences and patriotic themes, resonated strongly with viewers.
According to trade reports, Dhurandhar recorded approximately 3.6 crore footfalls during its theatrical run, making it one of the most watched Bollywood films in the post pandemic era. The film’s sustained occupancy levels were notable, particularly at a time when theatrical attendance has fluctuated due to changing audience preferences and the rise of digital platforms.
The overseas market also contributed significantly to the film’s overall performance. The film reportedly witnessed strong collections in key international territories with large Indian diaspora audiences. While detailed territory wise figures are awaited from official sources, trade analysts have described the global performance as robust.
Interestingly, Dhurandhar continued to draw audiences to cinemas even after its release on Netflix. The simultaneous digital availability did not significantly impact theatrical footfalls in the later weeks, according to trade observers. This trend reflects a growing segment of moviegoers who still prefer the big screen experience for large scale action films.
The film’s box office journey has also been associated with multiple records, including among the highest grossing Hindi films of recent years. Industry observers note that sustained collections over an extended theatrical window remain a key indicator of a film’s acceptance among audiences.
While official confirmation regarding its final worldwide gross collection is expected from the producers, trade data suggests that Dhurandhar has secured a prominent place among major Hindi box office successes.
The film’s performance underscores the continued potential of large scale commercial entertainers in theatres, even amid the expansion of streaming platforms. With its extended run and substantial domestic collections, Dhurandhar closes its theatrical chapter as one of the standout box office performers in recent times.
