Academy Award-winning producer Guneet Monga Kapoor, along with Achin Jain, has joined the team as executive producers for Raam Reddy’s highly anticipated film The Fable, featuring a talented cast that includes Manoj Bajpayee, Tillotama Shome, Deepak Dobriyal, and Priyanka Bose.
Set to make its Indian premiere at the 2024 MAMI Film Festival, The Fable has generated considerable excitement among filmmakers and audiences alike. In anticipation of this premiere, Guneet Monga, the producer and founder of Sikhya Entertainment, expressed her enthusiasm, stating, "We’re excited to bring The Fable to MAMI 2024. It’s refreshing to watch an Indian film with global appeal that defies conventional constraints. It is a distinct Indian story with a universal message, mesmerisingly shot on film.”
Director Raam Reddy shared his sentiments, highlighting the importance of Monga and Jain's involvement at such a pivotal moment, saying, “For Guneet and Achin to believe in this wild and magical dream, and come on board at this special moment in time - just before the Indian premiere at MAMI - fills my heart with immense joy.”
The film follows Dev, played by Manoj Bajpayee, and his family as they navigate life on a sprawling Orchard Estate in the Indian Himalayas. Their peaceful existence is enriched by simple joys, including Dev’s morning flights with homemade wings and his wife Nandini's (Priyanka Bose) delicious mulberry jam. However, their idyllic life takes a dark turn when they discover a mysteriously burnt apple tree, leading to escalating tensions and suspicions within the family. As a devastating fire breaks out, Dev is ultimately forced to confront the true nature of himself and his family.
With its compelling narrative and beautiful cinematography, The Fable promises to resonate with audiences and elevate Indian cinema on a global stage.
