During his interaction at the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) 2024, Manoj Bajpayee discussed the intricacies of acting and how playing complex characters has deeply affected him over the years. The actor revealed that embodying another person on screen isn’t easy, and it often leaves a lasting impact on his psyche. "The bruises of all the characters I have played till now are still there in my head," Bajpayee shared. He explained that when playing certain roles, he tends to become quieter and more observant, throwing himself entirely into the character, which can sometimes take a toll on his mind and mood.
He also admitted that the intense love for acting drives him, and it’s this passion that makes him embrace the challenges of the craft. "I like it when playing a character gives me sleepless nights," Bajpayee said, revealing that he often wakes up early thinking about his roles and feels more at home on set than anywhere else.
Despite decades of experience in the industry, Bajpayee still considers himself a newcomer. He expressed that with every new project, he feels like he knows less and is constantly amazed by the complexities of acting. "Acting is the most difficult job in the world," he stated, noting that many people underestimate the challenges involved.
Bajpayee, who was last seen in Bhaiyya Ji, will soon be seen in Despatch, a project directed by Kanu Behl, which is set to release on ZEE5.
