At the 2024 International Film Festival of Goa (IFFI), Ranbir Kapoor shared heartfelt sentiments about reuniting with director Sanjay Leela Bhansali for their upcoming film Love & War. Reflecting on their past collaboration, the actor expressed that Bhansali has not changed over the years, stating that the director remains as passionate and focused on his craft as ever.
Ranbir revealed that Bhansali is like a "godfather" to him, emphasizing that everything he knows about films and acting he has learned from the renowned filmmaker. He fondly recalled his Bollywood debut with Saawariya in 2007, which was also helmed by Bhansali. Speaking during a conversation with filmmaker Rahul Rawail at IFFI, Ranbir described Bhansali as extremely hardworking, always dedicated to his movies, and constantly pushing actors to explore new dimensions of their characters.
The actor also shared stories from their earlier work together, mentioning how Bhansali would scold him on set if he wasn’t satisfied with his performance.
Love & War also stars Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal and is slated for release in March 2026.
