In the 1990s, Mukesh Khanna played the iconic role of Shaktimaan, the superhero, in a popular TV series aired on Doordarshan. The series, which featured his character Pandit Gangadhar Vidyadhar Mayadhar Omkarnath Shastri as Shaktimaan, captured the hearts of children and became a beloved show.
Recently, Mukesh Khanna expressed his thoughts on Ranbir Kapoor playing the role of Rama in the upcoming Ramayana film. He stated, "An actor portraying Rama should not have a life that contradicts the essence of the character. Ranbir Kapoor is a talented actor, and his life cannot be seen as contrary to that of Lord Rama. Although he played a negative role in Animal recently, I believe it will not impact his portrayal of Rama."
In the film Ramayana, directed by Nitish Tiwari, Ranbir Kapoor plays the role of Rama, Sai Pallavi will portray Sita, and Kannada actor Yash will play Ravana. The film's music is composed by A.R. Rahman. The movie will be released in two parts, with the first part scheduled to release during Diwali in 2026, and the second part in Diwali 2027.
