Saiyami Kher recently opened up about her intensive preparation for her role in Agni, a film directed by Rahul Dholakia. Playing a firefighter in the film, Saiyami took part in specialized training drills with Mumbai's real-life firefighters, learning not only how to handle firefighting equipment but also undergoing the physical drills that are part of a firefighter’s daily routine.
Reflecting on her experience, Saiyami shared, “Preparing for this role was deeply inspiring and exciting. Spending time with real firefighters gave me an understanding of how little I knew about the challenges they face and the endurance required for their profession. I was especially surprised by the number of female firefighters, which was an eye opener for me.”
The actress added that the training was both thrilling and humbling. “The training sessions were very exciting. I learned how to handle equipment and did the same drills firefighters do. What struck me the most was the sheer bravery of these men and women. The sacrifices they make, often at great personal risk, is truly inspiring. I hope the audience can witness the world of firefighters and understand the courage it takes to do their jobs.”
Agni, which features a star-studded ensemble including Pratik Gandhi, Divyenndu, Sai Tamhankar, Jitendra Joshi, Udit Arora, and Kabir Shah, is set to release on Prime Video on December 6. Produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar, with co-producers Kassim Jagmagia and Vishal Ramchandani, the film promises to offer a gripping look at the dangerous and heroic lives of firefighters.
