Actor Sangay Tsheltrim has shared warm memories of working with Shah Rukh Khan on the sets of Jawan, describing the Bollywood superstar as a thorough gentleman who makes every co-actor feel valued and respected. In an exclusive conversation, Sangay opened up about his interactions with Shah Rukh and how the actor’s humility left a lasting impression on him.
Recalling their first meeting, Sangay said Shah Rukh Khan immediately made him feel welcome. According to Sangay, Shah Rukh approached him personally, shook his hand, and addressed him by name. He even acknowledged Sangay’s background and the role he was playing in the film. Sangay noted that this gesture stood out, especially coming from an actor of Shah Rukh Khan’s stature. He added that Shah Rukh went a step further by hugging him and thanking him for agreeing to be part of the project.
Sangay expressed surprise at Shah Rukh’s gratitude, stating that sharing screen space with such a globally recognised star was an honour in itself. He said the moment reflected Shah Rukh’s grounded personality and his habit of appreciating everyone involved in the filmmaking process, regardless of the size of their role.
The actor also recalled a light-hearted conversation they had about fitness. Sangay mentioned that Shah Rukh asked him about his workout routine and jokingly remarked that he trains more than that. Sangay responded by explaining his background as a professional bodybuilder, which prompted Shah Rukh to clarify that he was only joking and was already aware of Sangay’s fitness journey. According to Sangay, Shah Rukh’s comment showed that he had taken the time to learn about his co-star before meeting him.
Sangay said these small interactions helped create a relaxed and positive atmosphere on set. He added that Shah Rukh Khan consistently looked after his co-actors, ensuring everyone felt comfortable and motivated during the shoot. Such gestures, Sangay believes, contribute significantly to the collaborative spirit of a film set.
Jawan featured a diverse cast, and Sangay noted that Shah Rukh’s respectful approach towards actors from different backgrounds played a key role in building team spirit. He said the superstar’s professionalism and kindness made the demanding shoot more enjoyable for everyone involved.
Reflecting on the experience, Sangay expressed gratitude for having worked with Shah Rukh Khan and said the lessons he learned from observing his work ethic and humility would stay with him throughout his career. The actor concluded by saying that Shah Rukh Khan’s reputation as a gentleman is well deserved, both on and off screen.
