n an exclusive interview, acclaimed director RS Prasanna has shed light on the much-awaited film Sitaare Zameen Par, starring Aamir Khan in the lead role. The film, which has been generating buzz for its emotional theme and powerful storytelling, is expected to follow a similar inspirational path as Taare Zameen Par but with a fresh storyline and new characters.
During the interaction, Prasanna praised Aamir Khan's deep involvement in the creative process. “Aamir Sir did extensive research not just on the character he is playing but also on the overall concept of the film. His commitment to understanding the subject and ensuring authenticity is what elevates this project,” said the director.
While the plot remains largely under wraps, sources close to the production have revealed that the film focuses on differently-abled children and their journey through acceptance, growth, and achievement. Unlike its predecessor, which highlighted dyslexia, Sitaare Zameen Par is said to explore broader themes of inclusion, empowerment, and resilience.
RS Prasanna also shared insights about the casting process. According to him, it was not just about finding the right faces but also about identifying talent that could bring emotional depth to the characters. “We wanted actors who could convey vulnerability, strength, and a sense of wonder. It’s a sensitive subject, and the performances had to reflect that honesty,” he explained.
Aamir Khan, known for his perfectionist approach, reportedly worked closely with the team in choosing actors for pivotal roles. The film features both established performers and fresh talent, aiming to strike a balance between experience and raw emotion. Training workshops and rehearsal sessions were held months in advance to ensure the cast was fully immersed in their roles.
Talking about the tone of the film, Prasanna stated that while Sitaare Zameen Par is rooted in emotional storytelling, it also carries uplifting and joyful moments that resonate with audiences of all ages. The aim is to spark conversations around empathy and understanding, especially toward those who face challenges in mainstream society.
The production phase is said to be in its final stages, with post-production work currently underway. Music, another highlight of the project, is expected to play a key role in enhancing the narrative. The soundtrack will reportedly feature a mix of soulful melodies and motivational tracks.
Fans of Aamir Khan and audiences who appreciated Taare Zameen Par are eagerly waiting for this new project, which is expected to release later this year. With RS Prasanna’s direction and Aamir Khan’s dedication, Sitaare Zameen Par promises to be a thought-provoking and heartwarming cinematic experience.
