Filmmaker Vikramaditya Motwane is gearing up to direct Black Warrant, a gripping prison-drama series for Netflix. The show is an adaptation of the book Black Warrant: Confessions of a Tihar Jailer and will offer a dramatized retelling of true events from the 1980s, as experienced by Sunil Gupta, a young and inexperienced jailer at Tihar Jail.
Set against the backdrop of one of India’s most infamous prisons, Black Warrant will explore the complexities of power dynamics, high-profile criminal cases, and the harsh realities of life behind bars. The story unfolds through the eyes of Gupta as he confronts the challenging and often dangerous environment within Tihar.
The cast for the series is yet to be announced, but the project is highly anticipated due to Motwane’s reputation for delivering compelling, thought-provoking content.
