Ajith's upcoming film Vidaamuyarchi, directed by Magizh Thirumeni, has generated excitement with the release of its teaser, which was unveiled on Thursday. The teaser also confirms the film's theatrical release for Pongal 2025.
The teaser introduces a gripping premise set in the middle of a barren desert, where Arjun and Regina Cassandra’s characters are seen in what appears to be the aftermath of a crime. As they laugh menacingly, Ajith enters the frame as a man on a relentless mission to track down those responsible. While the teaser offers little in terms of plot details, the Arab-inspired background music adds an air of suspense and mystery.
Vidaamuyarchi features an impressive ensemble cast, including Trisha, Aarav, Nikhil Nair, Dasarathi, and Ganesh. This marks the fifth collaboration between Ajith and Trisha, who last paired up almost a decade ago. The duo’s previous films together include Ji (2005), Kireedam (2007), Mankatha (2011), and Yennai Arindhaal (2015).
The film’s technical team includes renowned cinematographer Om Prakash ISC, editor NB Srikanth, and music composer Anirudh Ravichandran. The post-theatrical digital rights have been acquired by Netflix. Produced by A Subaskaran of Lyca Productions, Vidaamuyarchi is set to be one of the major releases of Pongal 2025.
In addition to Vidaamuyarchi, Ajith is also working on Good Bad Ugly, directed by Adhik Ravichandran, which is also slated for a Pongal 2025 release.
