The eagerly awaited film Vidamuyarchi, directed by Magizh Thirumeni and starring Ajith Kumar and Trisha, was initially set to release during the Pongal festival in 2025. The film, produced by Lyca Productions, features a star-studded cast including Regina, Arjun, Aarav, Nikhil Nayar, Dasarathi, and Ganesh. Anirudh is composing the music for the film, and the teaser had already generated significant excitement among fans.
Additionally, the first single Sawadeeka received positive responses from audiences, and the film’s photos from the shooting location went viral on social media. The OTT rights for Vidamuyarchi have been acquired by Netflix, further adding to the anticipation.
In a recent update, the production company made a disappointing announcement that Vidamuyarchi will not be releasing during the Pongal festival as initially planned. The company cited unavoidable reasons for the delay. The official statement wished everyone a Happy New Year and conveyed their hopes for a prosperous year ahead.
Fans, particularly Ajith's followers, were looking forward to the movie’s release during Pongal, and this sudden postponement has left many disappointed. Despite this setback, the excitement around the film remains, and fans continue to hope for an early release in the future.
