Alangu, an action drama starring Gunanidhi, Chemban Vinod, and Kaali Venkat, has announced its release date for December 27 in both Tamil and Malayalam. The film, produced by DG Film Company in collaboration with Magnas Productions, is directed by SP Sakhthivel, known for his works such as Urumeen (2015) and Payanigal Gavanikkavum (2022). Inspired by real events near the Kerala-Tamil Nadu border, Alangu delves into the intense conflict between a Malayali political group and a Tamil tribal youth organization.
The title Alangu is derived from a dog breed linked to Chola emperor Rajaraja the Great's war dogs, with the film featuring a significant role for a dog. The movie's makers released an intriguing poster that shows the cast on one side, with dogs positioned on the other, accompanied by the tagline "It's all about man vs dog."
In addition to the main cast, the film features Appani Sarath (known for Angamaly Diaries) and Sreerekha in crucial roles. The film is shot across stunning forest locations in Attapadi, Idukki, Anaikatti, Kambam, and Theni, contributing to its rustic and intense atmosphere.
The technical team includes cinematographer S Pandikumar, composer Ajesh, and editor San Lokesh. Alangu is produced by D Sabareesh and SA Sangamithra, who previously worked together on the GV Prakash-Gautham Menon film Selfie.
With a compelling plot, strong performances, and a visually striking backdrop, Alangu is set to capture audiences with its gripping narrative.
