Director Shankar, a renowned name in Tamil cinema, made his debut in 1993 with the film Gentleman and went on to direct blockbusters like Indian, Anniyan, Sivaji, Enthiran, and 2.0. These films received massive acclaim both in terms of box office revenue and critical appreciation. However, his last film Indian 2 did not achieve the expected success.
Currently, Shankar has directed Game Changer, starring popular Telugu actor Ram Charan, with Kiara Advani playing the female lead. Ram Charan plays an IAS officer who fights against a corrupt system to establish justice. The film is set to release tomorrow.
In a recent interview, Shankar was asked if he had any interest in directing a biopic. He responded, "Until now, I haven’t really thought about a biopic. But if I were to make one, I would definitely choose Rajinikanth's story. When you asked me, Rajini was the first person who came to my mind. I didn’t expect to say this, but that’s how I feel."
This statement has since gone viral on social media. It is worth mentioning that Shankar has previously directed three major hits with Rajinikanth—Sivaji, Enthiran, and 2.0—which are some of the biggest successes in Tamil cinema history.
