On its sixth day, GOAT, the latest action film starring Vijay and directed by Venkat Prabhu, has netted ₹10.50 crore domestically, bringing its total domestic earnings to ₹162 crore. The film's collections have experienced a noticeable decline from ₹14.75 crore on Monday, reflecting a significant drop in audience interest after a mixed reception and a strong opening weekend.
Globally, GOAT has surpassed ₹315 crore in total gross. Despite this impressive figure, the film is facing difficulties in maintaining its momentum, which is crucial for a film relying heavily on Vijay's star power. The current trend suggests that the film might slip to single-digit collections in the coming days, potentially impacting its overall box office performance.
Although GOAT has become the highest-grossing Tamil film of the year so far, it is trailing behind Vijay’s previous blockbuster, Leo, which concluded its run with ₹340 crore in India and a global gross of ₹605 crore. The current pace of GOAT indicates it may struggle to match or exceed these figures.
Looking ahead, GOAT aims to surpass the worldwide gross of Ponniyin Selvan: II, which stands at ₹344 crore. If it crosses this mark by the end of the week, it will become the sixth highest-grossing Tamil film of all time. The next target in this list is Vikram, starring Kamal Haasan, which ended its global run with ₹414 crore.
