The screenplay may have flaws, but the entertainment quotient is high, " said a film trade analyst from Chennai.

Ajith Kumar’s latest film Good Bad Ugly has maintained a strong grip on the Tamil Nadu box office, earning an estimated ₹23 crore within its first two days of release. Following an impressive opening day, the action-packed entertainer continued to draw large crowds on Day 2, particularly in single screens and mass circuits across the state.

Directed by Adhik Ravichandran, Good Bad Ugly showcases Ajith Kumar in a powerful triple role – portraying characters with contrasting shades of morality. The unique concept, coupled with high-octane action and sharp dialogues, has resonated well with the actor’s massive fan base. Early reviews have praised Ajith's screen presence, while the film’s music and stylish visuals have also garnered attention.

The film reportedly collected around ₹12 crore on Day 1 and added ₹11 crore on Day 2, with steady occupancy levels across matinee and evening shows. In cities like Chennai, Salem, Madurai, and Tirunelveli, theatres witnessed near-full capacity shows, especially over the weekend. Multiplexes too saw decent footfall, boosted by word-of-mouth and family audiences.

Trade experts believe that the film’s mass appeal and festival timing (with Tamil New Year around the corner) have played key roles in its strong performance. With no major competition from other regional releases at the moment, Good Bad Ugly is expected to enjoy a clear run over the next few days.

"Ajith's charisma and the film's mass moments are working well with the core audience. The screenplay may have flaws, but the entertainment quotient is high," said a film trade analyst from Chennai.

The film’s success is also a positive sign for Tamil cinema’s box office revival, especially in the post-pandemic era. With good advance bookings for the weekend and strong demand for evening shows, the film is likely to cross the ₹35 crore mark by Day 3.

While Good Bad Ugly may not appeal to all sections of the audience due to its formulaic storytelling, it certainly delivers what Ajith fans expect—heroism, stylish action, and strong screen presence. The coming weekdays will determine its long-term success, but the initial momentum suggests the film is on track for a solid box office run.
