Jayam Ravi’s 34th film, tentatively titled JR 34, has officially kicked off with a traditional pooja ceremony. Directed by Ganesh K Babu, known for his work in Dada, this marks an exciting new venture for the actor. The film’s female lead will be played by Daudee Jiwal, daughter of Shankar Jiwal, the current Director General of Police (DGP) of Tamil Nadu.
The first poster for JR 34 was released in October, featuring Jayam Ravi in a split image—half in grey, half in white. This marks his third collaboration with Screen Scene Studios, after the successful releases of Agilan (2023) and Brother.
Harris Jayaraj, who has previously worked with Jayam Ravi on films like Dhaam Dhoom (2008), Engeyum Kadhal (2011), Vanamagan (2017), and Brother, will compose the music for this project. The technical crew from Dada has also been brought on board, with Ezhil Arasu K handling cinematography, Kathiresh Alagesan editing, and Raja in charge of art direction. The script will be penned by Rathna Kumar, the writer behind Master, Vikram, and Leo.
While the release date of JR 34 is yet to be announced, Jayam Ravi’s fans have much to look forward to as he juggles multiple projects. Recently seen in Brother (released this Diwali), he is also starring in Kadhalikka Neramillai, a romantic film directed by Kiruthiga Udhayanidhi, with Nithya Menen in a pivotal role. Additionally, Jayam Ravi’s Genie, a fantasy film directed by Arjunan Jr., is awaiting release, and he is also working on the highly anticipated sequel to Thani Oruvan, directed by Mohan Raja.
